Student Development Committee(2010-2011)
The Student Development Committee emphasizes the united effort of all school personnel
who, under the leadership of the school head, work together to create a positive learning atmosphere
enriched with care, trust and mutual respect. Therefore, the school adopts dual form teacher policy
and whole school approach, which stress the importance of a caring and inviting environment for
students to grow with enhanced self-esteem and to realize their potentials so that the ideal of a
whole-person development in the students could be achieved.
Hence, the work of the Student Development Committee is considered to be of paramount importance
to help our students realize and maximize their own potential, acquire acceptable social skills,
distinguish right from wrong, develop appropriate values and be better equipped for future challenges.
Being in the front line, form teachers are often in a better position to identify students in need of
help and to offer initial and/or prompt assistance. A positive environment can be created through the
caring attitude of teachers, harmonious inter-personal relationships, enriched informal extra-curricular
activities and a pleasing school setting.
The Student Development Committee works closely with the School Social Worker. School social
work service is provided by the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society. An in-house social worker
stays at school 4 days a week.
In cooperation with school and parents, the school social worker helps students to cope with
problems so that they can have holistic developments in various aspects: academic, emotional and
character. Students or parents who need guidance service can contact the school social worker
directly or through teachers’ referral. All information will be kept confidential.
